Usage and precautions

1.Selecting appropriate foil according to different types of stamping. During hot stamping, you must master the three-way cooperation of temperature, pressure and hot stamping speed for proper adjustment. Hot stamping materials and hot stamping area are also considered.

2.There is a vacuum aluminum plating layer on the hot stamping foil which is very sensitive to acid, alkali and humid environment. Therefore, the paper, ink (especially black), dry oil and compound glue must be neutral. At the same time, the material for hot stamping must be kept dry to avoid oxidation or damage of the bronzing layer.

Can you foil stamp plastic?

While hot foil can be successfully applied to many different materials, some are more suitable. With man-made substrates, hot stamping is often used effectively on different plastics, including polyester, polyethylene, and polypropylene, as well as vinyl, because these materials are softer and offer better adhesion.

Is cold foil sustainable?

Cold foiling is foil applied by a printing plate using adhesive and is sometimes claimed to be or positioned as more “eco”. However it just uses adhesive rather than heat to apply a similar foil and both the finished product and any waste generated is recyclable. Any unused foil is recycled as conventional foil is.
